The Legacy Youth Alliance has been established to support qualifying youth-led projects and youth-serving organizations
The Legacy Youth Alliance is made up of high school students from the Ottumwa, Cardinal, Eddyville and Pekin school districts in addition to home-schooled students that are dedicated to using education, volunteerism, and grant-making to develop leadership skills, to act as role models, and to improve the communities in Wapello County. The Legacy Youth Alliance give young people a voice in the issues that affect them now, and the skills to confront the challenges they will face in the future.
Goals of the Legacy Youth Alliance are:

To promote youth development and experiences in philanthropy

To promote and encourage community initiatives that address concerns of youth

To engage youth and adults in partnership where they work together to serve the common good.

To build a future of strong community leaders and philanthropists.
Great care is taken to ensure that the student population across Wapello County is appropriately represented
Members of the Legacy Youth Alliance have the opportunity to engage in fun activities and leadership building exercises – all while making a significant difference in their communities. Funding priorities and recommendations are determined by the Legacy Youth Alliance and approved by the Legacy Foundation Board of Directors.

Kelly has been a part of the Legacy Foundation since its inception and brings over 20 years of expertise working in the not-for-profit sector in both the health and education arenas. Most recently, before joining the Legacy team, Kelly held the Director of Donor Relations and Foundation Director positions at the Ottumwa Regional Health Foundation. Prior to that, Kelly managed the Advancement/Alumni Relations office and served as Annual Fund Coordinator for William Penn University. Kelly holds an AA Degree from Indian Hills Community College, a Business Administration Degree from Buena Vista University and a Master of Science Degree with a Community Development emphasis from Iowa State University. Additionally, Kelly is a member of the Cradle College Career (C3) Stakeholder Council, a member of the IHCC Regional Entrepreneurship Center Advisory Board, Rippling Waters Property Development Board, Spark Tank Advisory Board, Greater Ottumwa Partners in Progress Board and is a 2013 graduate of the Ottumwa Leadership Academy. Kelly and her husband Dan have two sons; Skylar and Jaden and three spoiled Wheaten Terriers.

- if you can commit to attend monthly meetings for a 2-year term
